FAQ

Can I share my fest pass with someone else?

Nope! Fest passes are for one passholder only. The passholder will be given a wristband that must stay intact throughout the festival and cannot be shared. A lanyard alone will not give you access to shows.

Will walkup tickets be available?

Most likely, yes! Even Sold Out shows often have at least a handful of tickets available at the door, but if you don’t want to take your chances, grab those tickets before they sell out, or buy a Fest Pass and have your choice of shows! Walkup tickets can be purchased at the venue once doors open for that show (~30 minutes before showtime).

Are passes or tickets refundable?

Nope.

Does the festival have age restrictions?

Pretty much. Most of our venues do not allow folks under 21 years old, so most of our shows are the same. Chaos Bloom and Mutiny Information Cafe are all-ages venues, but the content of most standup comedy shows still tends to be mature in nature.

What’s the deal with accessibility accommodations?

Resources are available to meet accessibility needs. Please contact support@highplainscomedy.com for additional information.

How do I volunteer?

Volunteers are the life force of our little indie festival, so thanks for asking! Please fill out this volunteer application and our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch!

I’m a comic. How do I get on the festival?

We're a fully curated festival—we do not accept submissions. We invite performers based on a year-round scouting process. We do take recommendations from past performers, however, so if you know someone who's been on the Festival in the past, you might want to ask them to throw a hat in the ring on your behalf. We are all booked for this year, but keep track of past performer recommendations for consideration in future fests.

May I record video or audio of a show?

Please do not record video or audio without prior permission—those jokes are copyrighted material that belongs to the performer. It’s fine to snap a few photos for Instagram or your “High Plains Memories“ scrapbook, but please do not use a flash, block the view of other audience members, or do anything that might disrupt the show. Once a show begins, we highly encourage folks to put their phones away—live standup comedy really is a “you have to be there” experience.

Where do I send my press request?

Thanks for asking, we think we’re pretty interesting too! Please submit requests here.

Is it okay to talk during a show or heckle the performer?

No, no you cannot. Well, technically you could but you’ll be removed without a refund if you disrupt a show. If you’re unsure of when talking is allowed, please refer to this handy-dandy flow chart:
